The bird-headed Horus guards and a thirsty octopus required most of my attention for this film.

The Horus guards in the climax of the film had dreadlocks and feathered head dresses that I focused on for R&D. I set up their dreadlock simulation rigs and created workflows for running dynamics on the feathered head dresses.

The feather line at the base of their necks had to be very accurate for the CG heads to line up correctly with the live action bodies. Much care and many late nights were spent getting their neck feathers looking good for the final film.

I covered some R&D for the octopus rig as well, giving the Riggers feedback and working with them to create believable tentacles. Multiple layers of simulations were used to first get the general movement of a tentacle, and then to finalize the slimy jiggle of it and the grabbing of the suckers underneath.
